Guangren Yu, Ph.D.

Structural Engineer

Guangren Yu joined Martin & Chock, Inc. after earning his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University; his doctoral research was Load Sharing and System Factors for Light-Frame Walls. His primary research interests are structural reliability, stochastic modeling of structural and environmental loads, and probability-based codified design. Dr. Yu has licenses as a Structural Engineer in Hawaii and a Civil Engineer in California.

Dr. Yu has taken numerous Geographical Information System (GIS) software courses and has incorporated databases of structures that can be presented clearly and efficiently using maps and charts. Some of the projects Guangren has worked on are summarized below.
